Poem: “By the Window”
Thou | turgid swirl, in which all is possible
and nothing is possible and nothing is
impossible. Where the salvaged word re-
–
sonates | boreal semblance overspread
pervading | Beyond the desk window rain
trundles leaves. By trimmed | lamplight,
–
the terror the awe of pages tilled or
marred. | Place of the mind: convolved
citadel | eddying with omens. By Thy
–
goodness the burst of the lilac bush | Large
stone sealing the snakepit. My | bulwark.
